  • Both Shah and Bhat are in their second lives—one as the founder of a fintech startup valued at over $4 billion and the other as a comedian transitioning into a finance and investing career.

  • When the fintech company wanted to splurge on its advertising campaign in 2021, a larger agency was brought on board for the process, but the ads were written and led by Bhat and some former All India Bakchod writers.

  • But it isn’t just the CRED branding that Shah has upgraded with Bhat; there also seems to be his own personal brand. Those who know Shah know that he has always wanted to be a mainstream personality. He has things to say and he wants the world to listen.

  • “He is a marketer at heart,” says a former colleague of Shah’s. “And he is building a bigger voice with Bhat on his side.”

  • Bhat’s past couple of years has seen a massive shift towards him experimenting with finance, apart from comedy and gaming. In 2020, he started something called Clueless, meant to educate audiences (mostly in their late teens or early 20s) on personal finance; “Next 10 million investors are just 20 hours of quality education away” is the description on Bhat’s LinkedIn page for Clueless.

  • In 2021, Bhat started another venture called SuperteamDAO, a cooperative for cryptocurrency and web3 enthusiasts that helps new projects launch and grow. SuperteamDAO also runs its own podcast with crypto explainers and interviews on a separate YouTube channel.

  • Alongside the money Bhat brings to the table, he also offers marketing expertise and a large follower base to promote these companies. For instance, on his YouTube channel, the highlighted video carries the text that Bhat buys his stocks on Smallcase.
